Here we have a Savage model 23D chambered in 22 Hornet according to what I can find online it was made in the early 1940s. These guns were only made between 1933 and 1947. This rifle is in great condition and has been custom fitted with a Winchester stock and has an armsport 4x40 wide angle scope, From a collector's standpoint having the Winchester stock instead of the original stock probably hurts the value, But if you look at the beautiful wood grain and checkering in this stock in my opinion I've never seen a savage 23D Look this good the old factory stocks they came with old Birchwood plain stocks with no checkering. So of course, I just wanted to make mention of that.
